Logistics Technician – VACANT

The Logistics Department is part of the Quality Assurance and Information Technology Section of the agency. This department provides support to the five branches of the agency. They ensure that the fleet or vehicles and trailers are maintained and ready to support the agencies mission; which is both training programs and state support to local jurisdictions upon request through the Virginia Emergency Operations Center (VEOC).

The agency currently has more than 60 trailers that support the 22 accredited programs as well as the non certification program. These trailers have the equipment necessary to conduct the training programs with minimal impact on the local host departments.

In addition the departments assist the branches with the other functions typically assigned to the Logistics section as outline in the National Incident Management courses. The Coordinator of this section is a staff member for the Virginia Emergency Operations Center, ESF 7 - Logistics, when activated.
