Dennis is the Assistant Chief of Inspections for Loudoun County, where he has been employed since 1985.  In 1985, Dennis was hired as an inspector and rose through the ranks to his current position, which he attained in 1992.

Prior to working for Loudoun County, Dennis owned his own construction and landscaping companies and served two years in the United States Army.

From 1990 until 1999, Dennis was an active member of the Sterling Volunteer Fire Department, where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant.  During his tenure with the Sterling Volunteer Fire Department, Dennis served as President and Vice-President of the Sterling Safety Center.

During the past 15 years he has been affiliated with the Virginia Building and Code Officials Association, the Virginia Fire Prevention Association, the Sterling Safety Center, and the County of Loudoun Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

Dennis holds numerous certifications from the Commonwealth of Virginia including Firefighter II, hazardous materials technician, emergency medical technician, code academy instructor.  Dennis is a certified professional code administrator, a building inspector and a fire prevention inspector.  Dennis has taken numerous courses at Northern Virginia Community College.

Dennis’s tenure with the Virginia Fire Services Board began in 2001 and was just recently elected to serve as Vice-Chairman for fiscal year 2007
