Joseph R. Wilson is owner and chief operating officer for PermaTreat Pest Control, headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia. PermaTreat Pest Control services forty-eight counties, primarily in the central and northern Virginia areas, as well as the Northern Neck.
Wilson is a former member of the Fredericksburg City Council and, for the past twenty years, has served as a member of the MediCorp Health System Board of Directors. MediCorp Health System is the parent company of Mary Washington Hospital.
Wilson served as chairman of the MediCorp board for the past four years until he retired from the board on 31 December 2008.
Wilson is a current member of the Commonwealth's Pesticide Control Board and has served since its inception in 1988, being re-appointed by the past six governors.
Other activities include current vice-chairman of the Fredericksburg Area Chamber of Commerce and current chairman of the Community Benefits Committee for MediCorp Health System.
Wilson was named Virginia's Small Business Person of the Year in 1987 by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
