Theresa Hunter was promoted to Chief of Administration in October 2023. Before her promotion, she served as the agency’s Grants and Budget Manager.
In her new role, Theresa will continue to manage the agency’s budget while also supervising the administration branch which consists of fiscal services, information and technology, human resources, and grants management.
Theresa has been working in the Public Safety sector for 20 years. Prior to joining VDFP in 2015, Theresa worked as the Senior Administrative Analyst with the Chesterfield Police Department. She served eight years as the Grants Manager with the City of Richmond Fire Department and several years with the Justice Services Department.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Savannah State University. Theresa is a native South Carolinian who came to Richmond by way of Savannah, Georgia.
