Community Risk Reduction

The mission of VDFP's Community Risk Reduction branch is to provide a systematic and proactive means to manage risks within a community and the Commonwealth.

Community Risk Reduction Initiatives

Advocacy

CRR is dedicated to the safety of Virginia citizens, as well as that of fire and emergency service providers. CRR gathers data and disseminates information for the identification and promotion of best practices.

Technical Assistance

CRR provides data and consultation to fire and emergency service providers and their communities to help identify and prioritize local risks, develop and execute action plans and evaluate process outcomes.

Research

CRR collects and utilizes data from the Virginia Fire Incident Reporting System (VFIRS), subject matter resources and experts to provide information while conducting a community risk assessment. CRR can
assist in the creation of the reports and studies used in development of community risk reduction programs.
