New Grants Info
On August 11, 2000 the Virginia Fire Services Board (VFSB) adopted a policy of providing grants, termed “Mini-Grants” from the interest earned by the Fire Programs Fund. The VFSB Committee on Fire Prevention and Control was charged with the responsibility of administering such program in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Fire Programs (VDFP). A provision was adopted to restrict such grant to activities – projects and programs which positively impact and/or further fire service training within the Commonwealth.
The maximum award for any Mini-Grant is $10,000.00. Localities (324 statewide: Counties, Cities, Incorporated Town) may submit one application per fiscal year (during years in which funding is available) for all interested, participating fire departments within their jurisdiction.
